
Charles William Anderson MIDLAND, TEXAS Charles "Charlie" W. Anderson peacefully went to be with his heavenly Father, surrounded by all his girls on January 11, 2026. He was born on November 21, 1943, in Mansfield, Louisiana. He was the beloved son of Linwood B. and Mary Alice Thigpen Anderson, the oldest of four boys, raised in Notrees, Texas. He enjoyed playing baseball with his brothers and friends at the back stop built by his Dad. This pastime reflected his deep love for family, friendship, and time spent with others. Charlie "Charlie Boy" graduated from Odessa High School in 1962. He also attended North Texas State University in Denton, Texas. It was on the school bus to OHS, where he met the love of his life, Linda Henry. They shared an incredible 60 years of marriage filled with love, devotion, and partnership. Together, they raised two cherished daughters, Charla and Tammy, who were the light of Charlie's life. Charlie was a proud PaPa to three granddaughters. Surrounded by only daughters and granddaughters, he affectionately called them "all my girls" or his "Charlie's Angels". His family continued to grow with the blessings of many great - grandchildren. He worked for many years as a machinist, foreman and working his way up to Vice President of Sales at Odessa Babbit Bearing. He finished his career at United Bearing. He was always known for his skill, dedication, and pride in his work. Charlie had a true passion for his hobbies that included woodworking, building model airplanes, railroads, trains, hunting, bowling and playing golf. He got great joy in watching his girls, grandchildren, and great - grandchildren's sports and activities. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Linwood and Mary Alice Thigpen Anderson; brother, Wayne Anderson, sister - in - law Jacqueline "Jackie" Anderson; brothers, Larry Anderson and Joe Anderson. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Linda Anderson of Odessa, Texas; daughters, Charla Long and husband, Tim; and Tammy Ledbetter and husband, Donnie. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Amber Davis, husband, Trent and their children, Dawson and Addison "Addi"; Jayla Inzer, husband, Noah and their children, Parker and Paisley; and Rebecca Hildebrand, husband, Sean and their children, Evelynn and Viola, with another great - grandchild on the way. He is survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and other close family members throughout Texas and Louisiana. Always the biggest kid in the room, Charlie Boy will be remembered for the life he lived, the love he shared, and the countless memories he created with family and friends. His presence and legacy will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Khavar Dar and Dr. Abdul Kadir, who cared for him for many years. Also, a special thanks to Encompass Rehab Hospital staff, the palliative and hospice care teams for their compassionate care and support. Visitation will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Odessa, Texas, on Thursday, January 15, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Sherwood Baptist Church in Odessa, Texas, at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 16, 2026. Graveside services will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Donnie Ledbetter, Tim Long, Trent Davis, Noah Inzer, Sean Hildebrand, and Dawson Davis.
