Thomas Maloy "Tommy" Hobbs MONTGOMERY, TX Thomas Maloy Hobbs went to be with the Lord at age 73 in Montgomery, Texas on July 20, 2026. Tommy was born on August 31, 1952 in Abilene, Texas to Paul Maloy Hobbs and Willie Vic Hobbs. His family moved to Odessa, Texas and he graduated from Odessa High School in 1970. Tommy met the love of his life, Claudia M (Coggins) Hobbs while they were both in Acapella Choir together for three years at Odessa High School. He was in the Senior Boys Quartet at OHS with three of his closest friends and they performed all over town. Tommy married Claudia on February 13, 1971 and the two shared a deep love of music their entire life. Tommy often led singing at church and led the music for many weddings. He loved the outdoors and spent many hunting seasons with his brother Lon. Tommy enjoyed coaching girls softball, where both his daughters, Jennifer and Lori, played for many years. He and his family moved to the Houston area where he worked for Exxon Mobile for 34 years before retiring. He is preceded in death by parents Paul and Willie Vic Hobbs, brother Lon P. Hobbs, and nephew David F. Hobbs. Tommy is survived by his loving wife, Claudia Hobbs; his sister Nancy Mitchell; his daughter, Jennifer Tharp and husband James; daughter Lori Scott; grandchildren Madison Tharp and Luke and Faith Scott; along with and many dear nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Memorial service will be held at Highlands Church of Christ in Highlands, TX on August 8, 2026 at 11:00 AM.
