Gary Alan Wynne ODESSA Gary Alan Wynne passed away on April 6, 2026 at the age of 66. Gary was a lifelong resident of Odessa, Texas, where he built a long, successful career and raised a family he cherished deeply in the community he always called home. A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026, at 2 o'clock in the afternoon at Immanuel Baptist Church in Odessa. Born on November 9, 1959 to Chalmas Edwin Wynne and Nancy Miller Wynne, Gary attended Permian High School and graduated in 1978. Following high school, he attended Odessa College where he played on the basketball team, meeting life - long friends and creating memories, which he enjoyed recounting over the years. Gary obtained his bachelor's degree in business management from the University of Texas Permian Basin. Gary worked for more than 40 years in the commercial and industrial electrical supply industry. During his long career, he sold electrical supplies for several local, regional, and national electric supply companies, culminating in more than 20 years with General Electric and JD Martin. Gary enjoyed the work he did and was involved in hundreds of projects across the Permian Basin. Without question, most fulfilling for him were the interactions with the people of his community and meaningful friendships he forged and maintained during his career. Gary also served as a volunteer for the United Way of Odessa for more than a decade. Anyone who knew Gary, knows he was an avid sports fan. From the Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Stars, and Texas Rangers to the Texas Tech Red Raiders and Permian High School Panthers, he was a fan, critic, and a walking, talking sport statistics encyclopedia. He also enjoyed playing and watching golf, coaching his son's pee wee soccer and little league baseball teams, and watching his 10 - year - old granddaughter, Felicity, play volleyball and basketball. Gary loved being a father to Whitney and Hunter, and he most treasured his title of "G - Pa" to Felicity and his 3 - month - old grandson, Titus?enjoying any opportunity to show their pictures to friends and strangers alike. His soft heart, quick wit, and infectious laugh will be deeply missed by his loving family and many friends. Gary is preceded in death by his father and mother Chalmas and Nancy Wynne and his brother Scott Wynne.
