Linda C Baker BOSTON Linda Carol Baker, beloved mother, wife and co - worker, has gone to her reward peacefully in her sleep on October 31, 2023. Linda was born on January 12, 1945. She lived among other places, in Odessa, Houston, Midland, and Georgetown, Texas, before moving closer to family in Massachusetts in 2018. Linda is preceded in death by her parents; R. F. "Frank" Baker and Winnie Eulene Baker; and her younger brother, James A. Baker. A lifelong Texan, Linda moved to Massachusetts to be closer to her family in 2018. She delighted in being surrounded by Massachusetts accents and worked hard to imitate them. Linda was a graduate of Odessa High School, and went on to find her career passion, court reporting. Linda was the first person on the dance floor, first to reach out when anyone was in need, was never without hair and makeup on point, had a quick sense of humor, laughed easily and often. Linda will be remembered for her kind and bright nature, her love of life and her generous heart. When her time came, she carried herself with dignity, strength, and full of love and remembrance for all of her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her. In her chosen career as a court reporter, Linda made some of her longest - lasting friendships and personal relationships. She traversed that career from entry - level to National President. She was a woman of faith to the end, and mentioned a number of times how happy she would be to see her family again. She is survived by her son, John Herring, daughter - in - law Jessie, and granddaughter, Jordan. An informal, simple and brief memorial service will be held according to her wishes. Don and Shirley recently celebrated 67 years of marriage, which is a testament of his devotion and love for his wife. After college, Don began his business career in sales in which he showed real talent when he joined Melvin’s Clothiers in Odessa full - time, providing men’s professional business attire. He became one of their principal salesmen until the store closed after almost 40 years. Don also took interest in local business and civic organizations and had numerous friends.
