Esequiel "Zeke" Rios TERLINGUA Esequiel "Zeke" Rios, 68, of Odessa, Texas, passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 13th 2026 at his ranch in Terlingua, Texas. Born in Odessa, Texas on May 25th, 1957, Zeke proudly served his country in the Air Force before returning home to care for his elderly parents. He graduated with an associate's degree in Business Administration from Odessa College and his Bachelor's from UT Permian Basin. Zeke was an avid outdoorsman, splitting his time between his home and his ranch and was beloved by the local community. He was preceded in death by his father, Jose Rios, his mother, Anita Rios, and his older brother, Joe Ochoa. He is survived by his children, Lindsey Desiree Sanchez (née O'Con), 41, Matthew Joe Rios, 40, and his grandchildren Xavier Lee, Zachary Phillip, Esequiel Joseph, and Zoey Lynn. Zeke will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his integrity, and his sense of calm in the face of adversity. A celebration of life will be held at American Heritage Funeral Home on June 5th, 2026 at 11am, followed by a memorial potluck at the American Legion in Odessa, Texas at 1:30pm.
