Joan (Smith) Headlee SANTA FE Joan S. Headlee died

Joan (Smith) Headlee SANTA FE Joan S. Headlee died peacefully on August 6, 2025. She was born in Pecos Texas on Nov. 5, 1929. She moved with her family to various oil fields in West Texas, landing in Odessa, Texas, where she met the love of her life, Gordon Headlee. Joan and Gordon were married on June 5, 1949. Three children followed. She lived a life full of friends, family and service to church and numerous charities. In 1973, the family moved to Gunnison, Colorado to run a cattle ranch and trout fish. In 1981, Joan and Gordon retired to Granite Shoals, Texas. Joan later moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico to be close to family where she lived until her death. She is preceded in death by her husband Gordon, sons David and Gordon Jr. Her brother Larry Smith and daughter, Claudia Thomas, survive her along with grandchildren, Jacob Thomas and Leah Thomas Michaels. She was blessed with two great grandsons, Roland and Gilbert. Donations in her memory can be made to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch or the New Mexico Assn. of Food Banks.
