Michael Joseph Krol ODESSA Psalms 23:4 "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me." It is with heavy hearts we share the news our beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 24, 2026. Michael was born on Friday, May 17, 1991, in Midland, Texas, to proud parents, Walter John Krol and Lynda Millwee Krol, and was just shy of his 35th birthday. He graduated from Robert E Lee High School in 2009. He was on the Varsity Golf Team and a member of the National Honor Society. He continued his education after graduation, attending Texas Tech University, studying Petroleum Engineering. After school, he spent some time traveling and working in Austin, Texas, and Colorado Springs, Colorado. At the request of his grandmother, JoAnn Millwee, he returned home to Midland to join the family oil business, Millwee Oil Inc. Michael loved the oilfield and enjoyed working with his family. He was best known for his quick wit and tall tales and the ability to make anyone laugh. He worked hard, loved fiercely and protected those he loved. Michael had many hobbies, and strumming his guitar was one of them. As a child, he would perform at Manor Park and Polo Park Estates every Christmas with his sister on the piano, much to the delight of the residents. MMA, especially Jiu - Jitsu, fascinated Michael during his high school years as he learned this new skill of self - defense. Golf was another passion he and his father and brother enjoyed immensely. Michael and his father navigated multiple states, from upstate New York to Arizona to New Mexico. They also had their Texas favorites, Lajitas and La Cantera, in their quest for the ultimate weekend golf trip. Hiking was another hobby Michael treasured which left him a profound since of peace with nature. He was an avid pet lover and cherished his childhood dogs, Bandit and Foxy Lady, and his favorite childhood cat, Jynx. His kitty, Susan, aka Salt, survives him. Michael was generous with his time and his money, never failing to stop and help someone in need. He knew his Bible, often quoting scripture. His smile was infectious with his sheepish grin and his uplifted chin, always guaranteeing him a new friend wherever he traveled. Michael was always thoughtful. He recently gave his mother the children's book "Love you Forever" by Robert Munsch as an early Mother's Day gift. The book perfectly illustrates the unconditional love between a parent and a child. And Michael, WE WILL LOVE YOU FOREVER. We will miss you our beautiful boy and are reassured knowing you are in a better place. Michael is survived by his parents, Walter John Krol and Lynda Millwee Krol; his maternal relatives, brother Alexander John Krol (Susan), nephews Paxton and Kingston; his sister Stephanie Krol McCurdy (Mike), nephews Blake, Gunnar, Beau and Louie and niece Piper; his aunt Sandy Jordan and uncle Daniel Jordan; cousin Jonathan Jordan (Morgan) and their daughter, Lula; cousin Matthew Jordan (Ashley) and their children Henry and Hallie; and cousin Tori Drechsel (Derek) and daughter Brooke; his paternal relatives, aunt Irene Krol; aunt Patricia Averson and cousins Tony Averson and Sarah Kelner (John); uncle Larry Krol (Ginny) and cousins Jonathan Krol (Claudine), Jeffrey Krol (Christine), Linsey Covey (Josh) and Megan Viera (Craig); aunt Nina Krazenberg and cousins Mike Suders, Trisha Oliver (Daniel) and Ritchie Kratzenberg (Brendan); aunt Kay Gordon (Geoffrey) and cousins Nate Gordon (Emily), Heidi Moyle (David) and Ben Gordon (Gina). He was predeceased by Uncles Kenneth Loewinger and Richard Kratzenberg, as well as grandparents, Walter John Krol and Dorothy Tabor Krol and John F. Millwee and JoAnn Lemaster Millwee. A private family memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity. Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley - Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland. Online condolences may be made at www.npwelch.com .
