Guadalupe Alvarado Palma ODESSA Lupe Palma passed away peacefully at the age of 90 surrounded by loved ones. He was born on February 26, 1935, in Vado de Piedra, Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico. It's difficult to put into words the life of a man like our dad?someone who meant so much not only to us, but to so many others. Some of our fondest memories are the simplest ones: the joy of him walking through the door after a long day at work, smiling as we ran to greet him, eager to dig through his lunch pail for leftover treats. He was always selfless with us?willing to share whatever he had, even the food off his plate. Every Friday, which was payday, he would take us out to dinner and let us pick the place?Church's Chicken, Long John Silver's, or Jojo's Hamburgers. It wasn't about the food as much as the joy of being together. No matter how hard he had worked that week, he always made time for those small celebrations. He was also an animal lover. He showed it in how he let us fill the house with pets?dogs, cats, a squirrel, and even parakeets for our mom. He welcomed them as part of the family. We'd often catch him giving them kisses, sneaking them bites of food, or talking to them in that soft, affectionate way he had. We cherished our Sunday family days?hearing him sing, hum, or whistle a tune, playing Rummikub, and listening to stories of his childhood on the ranch. He was a man of quiet strength, deep humility, and unwavering love for his family. Known for his respectful nature, warm smile, and gentle heart, he treated everyone with kindness and dignity. A hardworking man, he wore many hats?rancher, welder, landscaper?who approached every task with care and pride. Through his hands, he brought beauty and order to the spaces around him. Through his spirit, he brought warmth and strength to those he loved. Above all, he was a devoted father, a loving grandfather, and a faithful servant of Jehovah. His guidance was steady, his presence a source of peace, and his love unconditional. His faith was his foundation, and he shared it through his actions, his example, and his study of the Bible. He was married to our mother for 33 years and lived his vows with quiet devotion. Their love was built on faith, respect, and enduring commitment. To us, he was a mentor, a role model, and the steady center of our world. When he left, he took a part of us with him?but he also left behind so much: the memories, the lessons, and the love that will always surround us. He was deeply loved, and he will be deeply missed. Gracias, Papi, por todo. Te llevaremos con nosotros siempre. Lupe was preceded in death by his parents, Arcadio Palma and Margarita Alvarado; his sister, Tomasa Losoya; and his son, Jose Alfredo Palma. He is survived by his wife, Gloria Solis Palma; and his children: Margarita Evelia Tercero (Israel), Maria Estella Gonzalez (Skip), and Gloria Esther Palma?from his previous marriage to the late Ramona Palma?and daughter Marybel Caro (Timo). He is also survived by his grandchildren: Alexandra Marrufo, Xavier Marrufo, Angelica Tercero, Alya Tercero, Megan Ellyana Gonzalez, Adrian Barron, and Joaquin Barron.
