W.T. "Dub" Riley ODESSA ODESSA - W.T. (Dub) Riley, 98 years young, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2025, at Medical Center Hospital. He just got tired! Dub was born on May 16, 1927, in the Concho River area near Paint Rock, TX., the son of W.T. and Gladys Riley. Dub farmed in the agriculture industry from a young age moving and attending schools across Texas. After attending high school at Odessa High, Dub joined the United States Marine Corps and began teaching riflery at Quantico, then later at the Naval Base in Annapolis, Maryland. Following WWII, Dub was transferred back to Texas to a base in Kingsville, and eventually made his way up to Midland, in search of his "pot of gold" in the oil and gas industry. During this time, he met and married Caroll Sue Anduss of Goldsmith, Texas. They enjoyed sixty - five years and three children together before Sue's passing in 2013. Dub loved the outdoors and traveling. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and always looked forward to the annual opening of dove and deer season. As a member of the West Texas RV group, Dub was able to travel with Sue and see much of the United States which is how he met his current wife, Nancy and her husband, Charlie. The foursome travelled together for more than 10 years before the passing of Sue and Charlie. Dub and Nancy were married a few years later on December 6, 2017. Dub was a voracious reader and a proud Marine who loved learning. He adored Nancy, Sue, his family and many friends and even with his difficult upbringing, he was a steady and faithful provider. He had a ready smile and could "spin a yarn" with the best of them. Speaking of "spinning yarns," at 96, he wrote and published his book of memories and "Rileyisms" called "Reflections by W.T. (Dub) Riley," which is now available on Amazon. In addition to his parents, Dub was predeceased by Carroll Sue Riley, five sisters and one brother. Surviving in addition to his wife, Nancy Knight (Spano) Riley, are his sons Ronald Dale Riley of Lubbock, Bruce Alan Riley and Judy Sutton of Midland, daughter Deana Carroll (Riley) Scott and her husband, Terry, of Midland; "Bonus" daughter Tamerah Ringo and her husband Johnny of Dallas, "Bonus" sons Grant Spano and his wife Norma of Rosenberg, Kyle Spano and his wife Lisa of Round Rock, Greg Spano and his wife Mary of Temple; Five grandchildren Christina (Riley) Thomas, Shawna (Riley) Jaramillo, Tyler Riley, Jordan Riley and Jeffry Riley; as well as numerous great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
