Howard Joe Graham GEORGETOWN, TEXAS Howard Joe Graham, 88, of Georgetown, Texas, passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2025. He was a craftsman, artist, devoted husband, and loving father whose hands built both buildings and beauty throughout his long life. He was born in Snyder, Texas, to Joe Bailey Graham and Dorothy Lee Graham (née Williams), and moved to Odessa as a young boy, where he grew up, attended school, and met the love of his life, Kay Dillard. They married in July 1961, and shortly after, Howard Joe was drafted into the Army and spent two years stationed in El Paso. After studying architecture at Odessa Junior College, he chose a career as an ironworker?work that took him and Kay to the San Francisco Bay Area for thirty years. Upon retirement, they returned to Texas, settling in Georgetown to be closer to family. Howard Joe Graham was a man who needed to create?painting oil landscapes of the Northern California redwoods and coast, building coffee tables from reclaimed redwood, and crafting metalwork in retirement. Quiet and serious by nature, he became more talkative in his later years, revealing himself to be a gifted storyteller with a mischievous streak who loved to see if you'd catch on to his tall tales. Kay never did, which delighted him to no end. He had a sharp mind, strong common sense, and an abiding curiosity about life. He was an active member of Crestview Baptist Church, where he enjoyed the Adult Sunday School class and the fellowship of a group of men who gathered weekly for coffee, conversation, and reflection on current events. Howard Joe leaves behind his wife of sixty - four years, Kay Graham of Georgetown; daughters Daphne Van Stone and husband Jim, and Deanna Graham; grandson A.J. Cendejas, of whom he was immensely proud; step - grandchildren Andrew, Chris, Emily, and Zach and their families; sister Mary Haragan and husband Pat; and his beloved dog, Mojo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Bailey Graham and Dorothy Lee Graham; his sister, Dot Mossman; and his faithful companion Abby. Howard Joe Graham lived with purpose, built with care, and loved with steadiness. He will be deeply missed. Services held at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Texas at 9 a.m. on December 4, 2025.
