Mykle Hughes ODESSA In Loving Memory of Mykle Eugene Hughes Sr. January 20, 1964 - October 25, 2026 Mykle Eugene Hughes Sr., 62, of Odessa, Texas, passed away on October 25, 2026. Mykle, affectionately known as "Big Myke" and "Papa," was a hardworking, strong - willed, and devoted family man who believed that family always came first. His strength, determination, and dedication to those he loved were qualities that defined him. He was a man who knew the meaning of hard work. He believed in providing for his family, standing by those he loved, and never giving up when life got tough. He was as stubborn as they come, and once he made up his mind, there wasn't much anyone could do to change it. That stubbornness probably drove everyone who loved him a little crazy from time to time. But beneath that stubborn exterior was a man whose love for his family and friends ran deep. To Mykle, family wasn't just important?it was everything. He worked hard, made sacrifices, and did what he believed was right for the people he loved. He always showed up for those who mattered to him, often in the simplest and most unexpected ways. Sometimes it was to bring vegetables from his garden, share something he'd eaten that was just too good to keep to himself, or show up at 9 p.m. with a cup of coffee from McDonald's. He didn't need a reason to stop by or an invitation. He simply wanted to share a little piece of his day with the people he loved. He wasn't always an easy man, and he certainly wasn't a quiet one, but he was a man who loved with his whole heart. Mykle shared 37 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Michele Hughes, who preceded him in death. Together, they built a life and a family filled with love and memories that will be cherished for generations. He is survived by his mother, Barbara Smith; his sisters, Evonne Bellis, Kenia Bunch; his sons, Mykle Hughes Jr. (Kristin), Dustin Hughes (Katie), and Kevin Flick (Bridget); his daughter, Cassie Hughes; and his beloved little dog, Finn. He also leaves behind ten beloved grandchildren: Jaidyn Hughes, Aubree Hughes, Landon Jamar, Klyde Hughes, Kannon Hughes, Raiden Hughes, Brinley, Karson, Alizabeth, and Kennedy. Mykle will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his stubborn spirit, and, above all, his unwavering love for his family. He was a man who left his mark on everyone who knew him, whether through his words, his actions, or simply his larger - than - life personality. He was one of a kind, and his absence leaves a void that can never be filled. His family will miss the unexpected visits, the familiar sound of his voice, the stories, the laughter, and even the stubbornness that made him who he was. They will miss the little things they never imagined having to live without. But most of all, they will miss simply having him here. Though his time with them has come to an end, the love he gave, the lessons he taught, and the memories he created will remain a part of them forever. His legacy lives on in his children, his grandchildren, and every life he touched. Funeral services for Mykle will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Acres West Funeral Chapel & Crematory in Odessa, Texas. Forever loved. Forever missed. Never forgotten.
