Lucian McMillon Johnson COMANCHE TX Lucian M. Johnson, 95, of Odessa TX, passed from this life in Comanche TX on August 3, 2026. Heartland Funeral and Cremations of Comanche have been entrusted with the funeral arrangements. Viewing will be 8a.m. - 5p.m. Thursday and Friday the 6th and 7th of August 2026 at the funeral home, 1508 N Austin St., Comanche, TX 76442. A graveside service will be held Saturday the 8th of August, 2026 at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 6801 E, I20 BL, Odessa TX 79762. Lucian was born September 13, 1930, Roscoe TX to Lucian Francis and Beulah (McMillon) Johnson. He attended and graduated from Roscoe High School in 1947. Lucian married Gladys Odom November 26, 1951 in Roscoe. Lucian served his country in the United States Air Force 1951 - 1954. He held the rank of Staff Sergeant and was stationed in Rhode Island, USA and Germany. Lucian worked in the oil field beginning in 1956 by moving to Crane TX being employed by Humble Oil. Then, 1959 - 1968 Lucian worked for Amoco Oil & Gas in Odessa. From 1968 - 1986, Lucian worked as an oil field & construction welder. A change of employment came when he and his wife bought and operated Vivians Floral and Gifts. Lucian was an avid Bible reader and follower of Jesus Christ attending Churches of Christ in Roscoe, Crane, and Odessa. Free time was spent was spent fishing and hunting with the family, which he loved. He had lots of stories to tell. He enjoyed collecting coins with his granddaughters. He was a Permian High School Band Booster member for many years with all four of his children doing whatever needed to be done including welding one the tallest Band director stand. He earned his Order of the Arrow with the Boy Scouts in Odessa. Lucian was an avid bike rider with his cycling friends and son & grandson. Lucian was a lifetime member of the Odessa Downtown Lions Club. He loved helping others and enjoyed his time working the Concession Stand at Ratliff Stadium. Lucian is survived by daughters Gayla McDougal husband Bob, Pamela Leesher husband Johnny; son, David Johnson; grandchildren, Heather McCombs, Matt Leesher, Cynthia Stevenson & Nick Stevenson, Candice Adams & Matt Adams, Robert McDougal & Stacy McDougal; 7 great grandchildren; lots & lots of Johnson nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by wife Gladys Johnson; daughter Beverly Jane Johnson; parents Lucian and Beulah Johnson; brothers & sisters, Frances Johnson and wife Freda, Herman Johnson and wife Irene, Bonnie Taylor and husband Horace, J.T. Johnson. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Odessa Downtown Lions Club, 1101 Whitaker Ave #202, Odessa TX 79763
