Shirley Anne (Baerg) Addy GARDENDALE Shirley Anne Baerg Addy, 92, of Gardendale, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home on May 22, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born February 1, 1934, in Los Angeles, California, Shirley was the daughter of John F. Baerg and Doris Dalle. She married James Loren Addy on May 24, 1952, in Odessa, Texas, beginning a devoted marriage that spanned nearly 74 years. Shirley dedicated more than 37 years to education as a Home Economics teacher in ECISD, teaching at Bonham Junior High and Permian High School. She also shared her talents through Odessa College, the Inter Faith Service Council, and the Ector County Senior Center, where she taught sewing, cooking, and fabric painting. She enjoyed dancing, camping, fishing, tennis, traveling, and spending time with her family. Known affectionately as "Super Grandma," Shirley was cherished for her warmth, honesty, adventurous spirit, and unwavering devotion to her family and beloved husband. She is survived by her husband, James Addy; daughters Linda Ireland, Elaine Trout (Rev. Dr. Stephen Trout), and Veda Garza; six grandchildren; and twelve great - grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, John F. Baerg and Doris, and Louis B. Hatfield; her brother, Harold Baerg; and sons - in - law David Garza and Les Ireland. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on June 6, 2026, at Highland United Methodist Church, 1808 N. Dixie, Odessa. Shirley's legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched as a teacher, mother, grandmother, and friend. Arrangements are entrusted to American Heritage Cemetery Funreal Home Crematory in Midland.
